Sphynx Care.

Looking after your Sphynx
The following information was supplied by Denna Harmon, of the Suedekitty Cattery, and is an excerpt taken from a Sphynx Education brochure, which Denna hands out at Cat Shows

  • Sphynx must be bathed on a regular basis - Hair free does not mean carefree!!

  • Sphynx are very affectionate cats and typically need a lot of attention from their people.

  • Sphynx are usually comfortable in a normal indoor environment and do not have to wear clothes.

  • They should never be allowed to run free outside. Not only do they get cold, they can be sunburned!

  • Most Sphynx get along fine with “furry cats,” although we have known of a few that do not.

Please remember, Sphynx are not a "conversation piece", they are extremely lively and agile cats, who actively seek attention.  If you are house proud, do not consider owning a Sphynx, because they have their own views on tidiness, and they are not afraid to implement them at every opportunity!
